The skill of the Traditional Acupuncturist lays in the ability to diagnose and treat the cause of the illness or disease presented to them.
To try and arrest the development and prevent further deterioration of the condition and if possible help the person to achieve full health and vitality again. At the same time also trying to help alleviate the symptoms of things such as chronic pain and inflammation.
Traditional acupuncture can treat a great variety of conditions. As well as usually making a considerable difference to the symptom, such as chronic pain it can help lift the vitality and well being of the person being treated.
The effects of treatment can vary greatly in different people but there should be a marked change or difference in symptoms in the first 1 too 3 treatments and a general improvement in vitality and ability to relax.
Being a member of the British Acupuncture Council I adhere to their code of conduct which has has strict guidelines as to the safety of patients. There have been very few recordings of the incidence of acupuncture causing any harm over the last 40 years.
The first session which includes diagnosis usually takes one and a half hours. Subsequent treatment last about 45 minutes.
The Diagnosis, lasting one and a half hours, is £80. Treatments after that are £50.
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years beneficently. The Chinese people were always very practical and anything that didn't work would not have survived that long. I see it work very efficiently in over 90% of my patients!
